Case Study: Wicked Fast Internet’s Successful Multi-Band Deployment
Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club is in the Upper East Canyon of the Wasatch Mountains, on the outskirts of Park City, Utah. The Park City area has long been one of the nation’s attractive recreational and relocation destinations. The Jeremy Ranch facility overlooks the rapidly expanding East Canyon Creek region, which includes Park City. To serve this growing community, Wicked Fast Internet looked for a way to provide high-capacity services to residents and businesses. They wanted to keep costs down and assure that the selected technology would accommodate newly emerging high-capacity services, population growth, and geographical expansion.
Wicked Fast Internet and Aviat Networks team up to deliver high-capacity internet to Park City and neighboring communities in Utah’s Upper East Canyon. In the fall of 2019, Aviat Networks announced the successful rollout of its single-box WTM 4818 Multi-Band radio. A new customer for Aviat, Wicked Fast Internet in Park City Utah, completed the deployment of its first link, exhibiting 10 Gbps performance over a 5.9-mile path distance. The radio combines 80 GHz microwave (E-band) with an 18 GHz millimeter wave in a single compact unit operating over a single antenna. This breakthrough technology offers high capacity and significantly more uptime than would be possible with E-band alone. It also delivers the future-proof, growth enabling capabilities that Wicked Fast was seeking.
